TUCSON - The National Weather Service has issued a Flash Flood Warning for south central Santa Cruz County until 1:15 PM. This includes the cities of Nogales and Rio Rico.
According to News 4 Meteorologist Jeff Beamish, heavy rainfall in Nogales, Sonora will cause the already swollen Nogales Wash to rapidly rise. Several streets around Nogales, Arizona are closed and additional flooding of streets and homes is expected.
The city of Nogales, Arizona is currently in a flood emergency.
A Flash Flood Watch has been issued for Pima, Santa Cruz, southern Pinal and Cochise Counties until 8 PM tonight. Locally heavy rainfall will cause flooding issues over portions of southern Arizona this afternoon and evening.
