Flash flood watch in northern Ariz.

FLAGSTAFF, Ariz. (AP) The National Weather Service has issued a flash flood watch for northern Arizona through this evening.

The watch covers Apache, Navajo, Coconino, Yavapai and northern Gila County.

Extreme subtropical moisture and an unstable atmosphere with another upper level low moving through the area will likely produce widespread moderate to heavy rainfall Monday extending into the late evening hours.

Forecasters say the flash flood threat is elevated due to the potential for additional heavy rainfall on saturated ground from several days of widespread rain.
