Flash Flood Watch for Tucson metro, southeastern Arizona

TUCSON - The National Weather Service has issued a Flash Flood Watch for central & eastern Pima, southeastern Pinal, Santa Cruz, Cochise, southern Graham & southern Greenlee Counties.

This will be in effect from 3 PM today until late tonight.

Cities included in the Flash Flood Watch are Tucson, Nogales, Sierra Vista, Douglas, Willcox, Benson, Safford & Oracle.

According to News 4 Meteorologist Jeff Beamish, scattered to numerous thunderstorms will develop later this afternoon and last through the overnight hours. By daybreak Saturday, some areas may see up to 3" rainfall, flooding area streams and washes.

Widespread rainfall amounts around 1" is expected for most of southeastern Arizona.
