LOS ANGELES (AP) - Muslims in Los Angeles held prayers and a rally in support of Palestinians in the Gaza Strip amid the intense conflict between Israel and Hamas militants.
Men, women and children bowed in prayer and then took up flags and banners Friday outside the Federal Building in Westwood to call for an end to the deadly violence in Gaza.
The demonstration organized by American Muslims for Palestine was peaceful, with no reports of any incidents or arrests.
It came less than two weeks after a pro-Israel demonstration at the same location that ended with an altercation between participants and a group of Palestinian supporters who showed up.
