TUCSON- Five Tucson friends are splitting $1 million dollars, after winning a Powerball second place prize on Saturday.
The group of friends purchased the ticket at the QuikTrip located at 3345 W. Valencia Road, Arizona Lottery spokesman Omar Zamora said.
According to Zamora, the group wishes to remain anonymous, but said they plan to pay off their debts and take a group vacation to Hawaii.
"We are thrilled that a group of friends in a Lottery pool are getting to share the $1 million Powerball second prize," said Karen Bach, director of budget, products and communications for the Arizona Lottery. "We look forward to more big winners from Arizona in the future."
This is the 31st second place winning ticket sold in Arizona, Zamora said.
The next Powerball drawing is on Wednesday, June 11 and has an estimated $257 million jackpot up for grabs.
