TUCSON- Five people died in a vehicle rollover Saturday night near Interstate 10 and State Route 83.
The Department of Public Safety is investigating the accident, but confirmed the vehicle was being pursued by Border Patrol at the time of the accident.
According to Chief Willie Treatch with Rural/Metro, a total of 22 patients were in the van. Five patients were pronounced deceased, seven patients were flown to area hospitals and ten were transported by ambulances to area hospitals.
The condition of the victims transported to the hospitals is not known.
According to DPS, the vehicle rolled just before 11 p.m. Saturday night.
