TUCSON - A local firefighter is on a mission to spread awareness about diabetes.
Brad Williams with Rural/Metro Fire Department has been riding a stationary bike outside of coffee shops to spread the word that diabetics can have a healthy lifestyle.
He is also raising funds for local "InsulinDependence" programs. His goal is to raise $3,500 within the year. So far, he's raised $1,100.
"The group goes out and does local community events and outreaches to help encourage people with both type 1 and type 2 diabetes and their families to live more healthy and active lifestyles," said Brad Williams.
