TUCSON - Mountain Vista Fire District crews performed a swift water rescue late last night after a vehicle became stuck in the CDO wash near Overton and La Cholla.
The MVFD crew found the vehicle that attempted to cross the river stuck in the wash with one occupant inside at about midnight, according to a Rural Metro Fire District news release.
Crews set up safety measures and made entry into the vehicle, the release states. They then assisted the occupant in getting to a safe area. No injuries were reported during the water rescue.
Shierff's officials confirm that no citations were issued against the driver.
RMFD officials state that drivers should not attempt to cross running water or drive around any barricades.
"Drive responsible and plan your route to safe travel during the monsoon season," the release states.
