Fire at Pinal Air Park damages break room

MARANA- A late night fire at Pinal Air Park, caused serious damage to an employee break room and tool storage facility.

According to Avra Valley Fire spokesman Patrick Calhoun, firefighters from Avra Valley Fire, Northwest Fire and Silverbell Army Heliport Fire responded to a report of a fire just before 11 p.m. Friday night.

Firefighters found the building full of smoke, with flames coming out of the roof. The fire spread through the attic and forced firefighters to remove ceiling tiles to attack the flames. It took 20 firefighters about 50 minutes to bring the fire under control.

No injuries were reported and the investigation into the cause of the fire is ongoing.
