TUCSON - The FDA says Dutch Style Gouda cheese, offered for sale and sample in Costco stores in October, is preliminarily linked with the E. Coli outbreak in Arizona and four other states.
A new release from the FDA says that if you have Bravo Farms Dutch Style Gouda cheese, Costco item #40654, you should not it eat it and return it to the place of purchase or dispose of it in a closed plastic bag.
The FDA says 25 people have been infected with E. Coli O157:H7 in five states since mid-October. There have been 11 cases in Arizona, and 9 total hospitilizations.
Costco says that consumers can return the cheese to their stores for a full refund. They have been notifying customers of the situation using card purchase records.
