PHOENIX (AP) - A two-vehicle, fatal accident has closed a state highway on Phoenix area's west side.
The Arizona Department of Public Safety confirms that one person was killed in the accident during Thursday's morning commute.
The accident closed eastbound U.S. 60, also known as Grand Avenue, at the intersection with 99th Avenue.
The Arizona Department of Transportation says eastbound U.S. 60 traffic is being diverted onto either northbound or southbound 99th Avenue due to the crash.
ADOT suggests that commuters from places such as Surprise and the Sun Cities should consider alternate routes, including taking eastbound Bell Road to the Loop 101 freeway.
