Fashion design students at PCC strut their stuff

TUCSON - It's a night of fashion tomorrow night at Pima Community College!

PCC's Fashion Design students are hosting a fashion show called 'Electric Night' that will feature student-designed and sewn fashions including bridal and formal wear, digitally- printed garments and fiber optic apparel.

Local sponsors and sponsors from the Los Angeles Fashion District will award winners of the judged categories. Several salons in the Tucson area have volunteered to do hair and makeup for the runway models. There will also be a live D.J. on hand.

The student fashion club also will be holding a drawing for several gift baskets and dresses. Those proceeds will be donated to Wings for Women, an organization that serves homeless women and children in Tucson.

"Supporting women in need really hit home for a lot of our students," said Nancy Spaulding, Fashion Design Instructor. "They want to generate awareness for Wings for Women's very important mission."

The show is Friday night at 7 p.m., at the PCC Center for the Arts Proscenium Theatre, West Campus, 2202 W. Anklam Road. Admission is $2.00.
