MARANA - Plenty of fans turned out for the second day of practice at the Accenture Match Play Championship, and many of them showed up to catch a glimpse of Tiger Woods.
Barbara Whitfield lives in Tucson, she said she doesn't know very much about golf and came to the course for one reason, "just to see Tiger, " she said, "hopefully I'll get his autograph, say hi to him; that'd be nice."
Meanwhile Lenin Elizade made the 12 hour drive to Marana from Sinaloa, "we drove from Mexico all the way to Tucson or Marana just to see Tiger Woods."
Woods didn't sign any autographs or take any pictures with fans while on the way to driving range but it didn't matter to Elizade, "he's an idol of mine. He's good. It''s fun to watch him hit balls, come out the crowd gets kinda crazy when he comes out." A treat he said he looks forward to every year for the last few Match Play Championships, "last year here we fist bumped so it was pretty cool."
