TUCSON - Tomas Tovar's family is hoping for answers in the 36-year-old's death.
On April 26 Tovar was killed in a grocery store parking lot around 10 p.m. at the corner of Irvington Road and Campbell Avenue.
He was about 9 years older than his younger sister, Melissa Salazar.
"He was just supportive," Salazar said. "And he was like father that I didn't have."
Police have not made any arrests and have not named any suspects. They are calling a gray or silver Dodge Magnum a "vehicle of interest."
"It just lingers there, because we don't know the details," Salazar said. "We don't know who did what. It's terrible."
Anybody with information can call 911 or 88-CRIME.
"We're just begging anybody to just please give us any information that they think is relevant or irrelevant, just anything," Salazar said.
The family is struggling with unexpected expenses for a funeral. Donations can be made to the Tomas Tovar memorial account at any Wells Fargo Bank.
