TUCSON - Grandmother Mary Clark almost lost her 4 year old grandson on July 19th while swimming.
Clark said, "My daughter-in-law is saying "where's Sean", he was floating, we pulled him out and I was giving him chest compressions."
She says after about a minute of CPR, he came around and made a full recovery.
Clark said, "He's fine, no infections, no residual brain damage of any kind, nothing, he's perfect."
Captain Trish Tracy of Tucson Fire said, because of CPR, little Sean and 6 other kids, under the age of twelve, survived.
Tracy said, "In the city limits, we've had a total of 7 near drownings, and in almost every near drowning that we've had so far this year, CPR has played a significant t roll."
So, for Mary Clark, CPR separated life from death, now she'll get to see her grandson grow-up, after all.
Clark said, "I just hug him extra every time I see him."
