Family remembers fallen hero

TUCSON-A family remembered a fallen hero Sunday with a memorial.

Forty-five-years ago Jose Manuel Quesney died in combat during the Vietnam War.

Sunday, his family and friends celebrated his life.

The Quesney family has a memorial every ten years, but instead of having a memorial during the 50th anniversary of Quesney's death, they decided to have it during the 45th anniversary just to make sure Quesney's dad could be there.

Jose Quesney is 90 years old and wasn't sure he would be here for his son's memorial.

"I don't know if I'll have him another five years, so I thought it's best to do it now," said Mary Helen Aguilar, Quesney's sister.

Veterans paid their respects by delivering a flag to Quesney's grave.

Family and friends said a few words at the podium.

The helmet, rifle and boots represented the fallen soldier and right below were Quesney's medals.

The family was happy with the turn out.

"They all still love him," said Jose Quesney.

Quesney's dream was to be an architect.

He had started going to school at the U of A before being deployed.
