Family of slain Tucson kids talks to News 4

TUCSON - Bond is set at one million dollars for a Tucson woman accused of killing her own two children.

Police say Perla Morales shot both her 17-month old son Richard Rosovich Junior and her four year old daughter Emma Rosovich Saturday night.

Investigators say she also tried to harm herself.

News 4 Tucson's Rebecca Taylor spoke to family who are shocked at what happened.

The children's uncle says that his heart is broken, and he's not the only one.

It's a close knit family, who live on the same street where the violence happened.

"The grandmother lives next door to where it all happened. She's impacted tremendously," said Tom Martinez the family's chaplain. "She was obviously very close to the kids, so she's seeking answers."

As the family tries to make sense of it all, their prayers extend to Perla Morales, the kids mother who's now behind bars.

The kid's uncle Jose Celaya says, "I knew her well too, and my heart goes out to her."

"They have faith in God and know that the kids are in heaven," said Chaplain Martinez.

Holding on to their faith, Celaya has a message for his niece and nephew. "That we love them, it's tragic, but we love them."

Chaplain Martinez adds, "They will not be forgotten. There will be love in their hearts, and looking forward to the day that they see them again".

The family attends church in Tucson, they tell News 4's Rebecca Taylor that a personal call from their pastor Sunday morning helped lift their spirits.

Perla Morales' next court date is set for August 22nd.
