Family hopes for return of memorial highway cross

SPRING VALLEY - A Yavapai County family is seeking the return of a memorial highway cross taken on Friday, July 18.

The family of Ayeesha Day reported the theft of the cross from Highway 69, milepost 264, near Spring Valley, Arizona. Ayeesha was killed following an accident at the location in
January. She was 16-years old at the time.

The brass cross was constructed by students at Mayer High School and displays Ayeesha's name, birthdate and date of death. The cross is about three feet tall and two feet wide and was taken sometime between the 15th and 18th of July.
