TUCSON - Family and friends working to gather 1,600 birthday cards for a special birthday boy.
Jacob Mockbee was born with a birth defect.
Doctors told his parents that he wouldn't live to see his first birthday.
Now, almost 16 years later, Jacob's getting ready to celebrate his golden birthday.
Friends and family want to help by showering him with 1,600 birthday cards.
The cards are coming in from all over the country and have gathered 1,006 so far.
Jacob has served as the Arizona Champion Child, an ambassador for the "Make a Wish Foundation" and keeps raising money for CMN and Tucson Medical Center.
