TUCSON - DEVELOPING INFORMATION - The operators of the helicopter which crashed in midtown yesterday will have a news conference this morning at 10 a.m. News 4 Tucson will be there. We will carry it live on air and online.

This picture of the helicopter going down was taken by Dayle Gray of Tucson. He snapped the shot moments before the chopper crashed in a Mid-town backyard.

The site of the crash, near Park and Glenn Avenues, remains closed this morning while the Federal Aviation Administration investigates.

All three people aboard the Lifenet medical helicopter died. The Colorado-based company Air Methods which operates the helicopter says the pilot, flight nurse and paramedic were killed in the 1:45 p.m. crash Wednesday. Air Methods says the names of the victims won't be released until Thursday at the earliest.

Federal Aviation Administration officials say the helicopter was traveling from Marana to Douglas when it crashed, but wasn't transporting a patient at the time. The FAA says the helicopter was in contact with air traffic controllers before the accident, and there was no indication of
trouble.
