TUCSON - Scattered storms make their way back into the forecast to wrap up the weekend.
Expecting an active Monsoon Sunday as moisture combines with an upper level disturbance to get storms firing up this afternoon and evening, according to Meteorologist John Patrick. Cloud cover this morning could delay thunderstorm activity until later this afternoon but still expecting good thunderstorm coverage late today. Biggest threats with today's storms will be heavy rain possibly leading to flooding issues and strong gusty winds.
High pressure sets up in a less favorable position this week for moisture and a more favorable position for some August heat. Just enough moisture will linger around Southern Arizona to support isolated storms this week but daytime highs will soar to near 105 to start the work week.
