YUMA, Ariz. (AP) - A former San Luis police lieutenant accused of stalking a woman is scheduled to stand trial in Yuma in November.
Gerardo Torres was arrested in January 2012 and charged with two counts of kidnapping and one count of stalking.
Since no plea agreement has been offered in the case, a Yuma County Superior Court judge on Wednesday set aside Nov. 12, 14, 15 and 19 for the trial.
The Yuma Sun (http://bit.ly/1cepT7Z) reports that the charges against Torres stem from a woman's allegations that he stalked her over an eight-month span.
The woman also says Torres illegally detained her during a traffic stop and contacted her at her place of employment almost daily from May 2011 until early January 2012.
Torres was with the San Luis police for 11 years.
