NEW ORLEANS - A second former New Orleans officer has pleaded guilty in an alleged conspiracy to cover up a deadly police shooting of unarmed residents after Hurricane Katrina.

Jeffrey Lehrmann entered his plea Thursday in U.S. District Court in New Orleans to charges of misprision of a felony, which means he had knowledge of a crime and didn't report it.

The shootings on the Danziger Bridge killed two people and wounded four others less than a week after the August 2005 storm. They Justice Department launched an investigation.

Lehrmann left the New Orleans Police Department in 2006 and is a special agent at the U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement office in Phoenix.

Sentencing has been set for June 10.
