TUCSON - "Bark in the Park", an event sponsored by Rescue A Golden of Arizona (RAGofAZ), brought together families who have adopted Golden Retrievers at Reid Park on Saturday.
The event was a celebration of companionship, and was held to thank members who have rescued Golden Retrievers.
A ceremony was held to memorialize the dogs that have passed away this year.
RAGofAZ is the only state-wide organization that rescues displaced Golden Retrievers.
This year, RAGofAZ has rescued 152 dogs and has paid $109,650 in veterinarian fees. RAGofAZ will not turn away a dog because of illness or injury.
The all-volunteer 501 (c) (3) non-profit organization just celebrated its 14th anniversary, and the rescue of its 3000th dog, his name is Charlie.
