Elevated fire danger this afternoon

TUCSON - The National Weather Service has issued a Red Flag Warning from 10 AM until 7 PM. This includes central & eastern Pima, Santa Cruz and Cochise Counties.

Gusty southwest winds up to 30 MPH along with low relative humidity creates an extreme fire danger, according to News 4 Meteorologist Jeff Beamish. Areas along and east of a Benson-Willcox line could see a few isolated storms this afternoon, but little rainfall is expected.

An area of low pressure may trigger isolated storms tomorrow west of Tucson, then Saturday in the mountains. Winds will begin to ease up heading into the holiday weekend, with highs in the 80's Friday and Saturday.

The heat is on heading into next week, with mid 90's on Memorial Day and 100's Wednesday.
