El Conquistador renovates two golf courses damaged by monsoon

TUCSON- The Hilton Tucson El Conquistador Golf & Tennis Resort recently invested nearly $3 million to enhance its two golf courses - The Conquistador and The Cañada.

After the July 2012 storms that caused severe damage, those two golf courses needed to be fixed.

The desert areas bordering every hole are being smoothed and re-landscaped, and 21 new mesquite and Palo Verde trees are being planted throughout both courses. Many turf areas have been re-seeded, and the cart paths are also undergoing extensive repair.

"Our Conquistador and Cañada golf courses are both in the best condition they have been since they first opened to the public," said, Lynn Eriksen, general manager, Hilton Tucson El Conquistador Golf & Tennis Resort. "As Tucson's largest golf resort, we are very pleased to offer our guests and club members, these improved world-class golf facilities."

Hilton Tucson El Conquistador Golf & Tennis Resort also features a third golf course, The Pusch Ridge course.

All three golf courses are open to the public, as well as members of El Conquistador Golf Club.
