TUCSON - An early morning fire leaves a family of 3 displaced and one of their pets dead.
Northwest Fire responded to a mobile home just after 2:30 this morning at 2959 West Sage Circle to find it fully engulfed in flames.
21 firefighters battled the fire and were able to get it under control in 16 minutes. Crews also kept the flames away from two other mobile homes.
The family was able to escape after the 16-year old daughter smelled smoke. One of three Rottweiler puppies was not able to escape and died.
The home did not have any working smoke detectors.
The cause of the fire is believed to be an accidental electrical issue. Damage is estimated to be around $20,000 and the Red Cross is helping the family out.
