With rough weather on the way, many travelers are trying to stay safe on the road.
Anita West who's been a trucker for 30 years explains how she stays safe on the road during bad weather conditions.
"You be cautious, keep your distance and always try to watch out for everybody around you."
According to Department of Public Safety during dust storms and high winds the key is to slow down andkeep you lights on. This is highly suggested during the day.
DPS Spokesman, Harold Sanders said, "At a very slow speed what it does it is allows you to see, drive in from you from a distance and now your reaction time is greatly increased to allow you to slow down or stop should something occur in front of you."
One of the biggest challenges of all is the ability to predict how strong the dust storm will be.
