SAHUARITA- On August 7, a Union Pacific train was travelling east when a light blue 1960 Chevrolet pick-up truck crashed through the crossing arms.
The vehicle was in arm's length of getting hit by the train, which was travelling at fifteen miles per hour, according to a news release from the Sahuarita Police Department.
A camera on the train documented images of the truck going through the crossings. The costs of the damages are estimated to be between $5,000 to $7,000, the news release stated. The driver is said to be a 70-year-old Hispanic male. Witnesses say the vehicle continued north with a damaged front windshield.
The Sahuarita Police department needs your help. If you have any information relating to this incident please call 911 or 88-CRIME.
