Drexel Heights firefighters sport purple for drowning awareness

TUCSON - Firefighters with Drexel Heights are sporting purple this month to bring about more awareness to drowning.

A 46-year-old man drowned Thursday at his apartment complex pool, Drewel Heights Fire spokeswoman Tracy Koslowski said,

The man had a history of medical issues that may have contributed to his death, she added.

Drowning prevention month strives to educate parents about the need for pool fencing and constant supervision of kids around water.
