TUCSON - A Department of Public Safety K-9 is in a veterinary hospital after accidentally being left in a hot car for over an hour.

According to DPS, an officer switched into another vehicle at the DPS Tucson Headquarters, near Tucson Blvd. and Valencia Rd., and later realized the dog had been left in the other unit.

Tucson Fire responded and took the dog to a nearby vet. The dog had a high temperature when they found it, but was still alive.
