TUCSON- A Tucson couple escaped an early morning house fire, after their dog alerted them to the danger.
According to Tucson Fire Captain Barrett Baker, crews were dispatched to a house in the 10500 block of East Dusky Willow Drive at 1:30 Sunday morning for reports of multiple vehicles in a garage on fire.
Before crews arrived, the couple, along with their dog Reilly, were able to escape from the house unharmed.
The first crew on scene entered the house to stop the spread of the fire, while the second crew on scene attacked the fire in the garage.
Baker says the fire spread to the attic of the home, but crews were able to cut holes in the roof and extinguish the flames.
It took 21 firefighters 17 minutes to bring the house fire under control.
Three cars were destroyed and the garage and part of the house were heavily damaged by the fire.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
