Dragon's Palace on East Broadway Blvd. received a whopping twelve critical and five non-critical violations.
According to the Pima County Health Department report, a cook was observed wiping his hands on a dirty apron, taking the trash out, then resuming food preparation without washing his hands.
There is only one hand sink in the kitchen. There must be a sink near all areas of food preparation, according to rules. Raw shrimp was stored above cabbage and raw chicken was stored above carrots. Both are examples of improper food separation.
With more than five critical violations, Dragon's Palace is operating on a Provisional License.
Famous Sam's on East Pima St. received five critical and three non-critical violations. Sliced cheese was held at too high of a temperature, a cook was observed touching his nose and face, picking up boxes and handling fryers, then failing to wash his hands before returning to work.
The microwave had an excessive amount of dried food debris on the inside and outside.
With five violations, Famous Sam's is operating on a Provisional License.
Sachiko Sushi on North Wilmot Rd. received three critical and one non-critical violation. Cooked salmon was sitting at least sixty degrees below required temperature. An employee was observed preparing a sushi roll with bare hands. Eggs were stored above sprouts. That's a separation violation.
Sachiko Sushi still gets a *G* for Good.
The best of the week belongs to: Sauce on East Broadway Blvd., Mamma Llama's on North Craycroft Rd., and Pei Wei Asian Diner on East Broadway Blvd. All restaurants received *E* for Excellent.
