Dirt roads washed out in Saguaro National Park West

TUCSON - Flash flooding Tuesday afternoon in Saguaro National Park's Tucson Mountain (West) District has led to damaged roads and closures.

The water washed out parts of the Scenic Bajada Loop Drive. The damage led authorities to close down nearly all of the dirt roads in the park. One exception is the segment leading to the Sus Picnic Area.

Paved roads in the area remain open but drivers and cyclists are warned to watch for debris and flooding. Trails are also still open.

Crews are working to fix the damaged roads. Updated information about when the roads will re-open will be posted on this website.
