Detectives investigate possible abduction of teen in the Foothills

TUCSON - Pima County Sheriffs deputies are investigating a potential abduction or attempted abduction in the Foothills Tuesday morning.

Deputies say a woman called 911 to report seeing a man in a white van following after a boy riding a bike.

The woman told deputies that the boy, around 14 or 15- years-old, abandoned his bike and hid in bushes.

Sheriffs are trying to locate both the potential victim and suspect.

They say the boy was wearing a navy blue jogging suit or a dark-colored hoodie or windbreaker, blue sweat pants with a white stripe, and white tennis shoes.

The driver is described as a tan Causcasian or a Hispanic man, about six-feet tall, 180-190 pounds, clean-shaven, wearing an outback-style hat, hiking shorts and hiking boots. He is driving an older VW or Ford van with Washington plates, sheriff's said.

News 4 Tucson's Lupita Murillo is on the scene now - stay tuned for more information.
