Deputies searching for man who robbed north side bank Monday

TUCSON - The Pima County Sheriff's Department is looking for a man who robbed a north side bank Monday morning, then fled in a vehicle that may have been a white van.

Deputies responded to the robbery at the Compass Bank located at 5085 N. La Canada Blvd at about 10:40 a.m. Monday, PCSD officials stated in a news release. The suspect entered the bank, displayed a threatening note, and then exited the bank with an undisclosed amount of cash.

The suspect went to the east end of the parking lot where a vehicle, possible a white van, was waiting for him.

Sheriff's officials described the suspect as a Hispanic male in his late 20's or early 30's. He had medium length dark hair, a mustache, and was wearing dark sunglasses. He was last seen wearing a grey or brown plaid shirt. It is believed he is the same suspect from other recent bank robberies, officials stated.

Anyone who can identify the suspect or has information about the case is asked to call 9-1-1 or 88-CRIME.
