TUCSON - Pima County Sheriff's deputies arrest a teenager in connection to a weekend murder.
The murder happened Sunday in the 6400 block of South Camino De La Tierra. Deputies responded to a report of shots fired and found 19-year-old Jesus Duarte critically injured. He later died at the hospital.
Through the investigation, detectives learned the victim had an intimate affair with a female who was in a relationship with the person later identified as the suspect, 17-year-old Sammy Tarrazas. Investigators believe Tarrazas lured Duarte outside of his residence on the night of the murder and then shot him multiple times.
Earlier today, detectives followed investigative leads and came to Pueblo High School where they saw the suspect's vehicle. When they located Tarrazas himself, he tried to run away but was arrested and booked into the Pima County Adult Detention Center on a charge of First Degree Murder.
