TUCSON - With the Primary Election less than two weeks away, dozens of candidates are vying for a spot on the General Election ballot come November.
As part of News 4 Tucson's Decision 2012 coverage, below you can find brief biographies and links to campaign websites for all candidates on the Primary Election ballot for the three new Congressional Districts that will represent Southern Arizona in the U.S. House of Representatives.

Benally Baldenegro, Wenona - Democrat
Raised in Kayenta, AZ on the Navajo Reservation; Wenona graduated from Arizona State University with a bachelor's degree in English Literature. Wenona has worked as an attorney and public interest advocate; also she has worked for law firms and nonprofit organizations located in Arizona and Washington D.C. http://wenonaforarizona.com/
Kirkpatrick, Ann - Democrat
Born and raised in Eastern Arizona, Ann was elected to the Arizona House of Representatives to represent Legislative District 2 In 2004. She has also been a part of the Veterans' Affairs, and Homeland Security committees.
Allen, Kim - Libertarian (Write-In)
Kim has a Bachelor's in Political science from the University of Michigan; also she attended Michigan State University, Detroit College of Law.
Gatti, Patrick - Republican
In 1977 Patrick started his very own small business, over time the business grew up to 15 employees. He strongly believes that you cannot operate a business without a budget.
Martin, Gaither - Republican
Martin was born and raised in the White Mountains and enjoys fishing, Hunting and horseback riding. Gaither attended Brigham Young University, where he received a bachelor's degree in History. He has interned for the office of then Arizona 1st Congressional District Congressman J.D. Hayworth; then worked for the United States Department of Defense.
Paton, Jonathan - Republican
Jonathan grew up in Arizona and graduated in Latin honors for the University of Arizona. Immediately after college he found a job in commercial real estate and public relations. Also he served sometime in the United States Army.
Douglas was born and raised in Indiana, served in the US Army from 1969-1972.Doug attended Indiana University and Arizona State University where he studied political science, economics, and construction design and management.
Barber, Ron - Democrat
Originally from southern Arizona, Ron and his wife ran a small business for several years helping kids get new toys. Ron also served at the Arizona Division of Developmental Disabilities for over 30 years. He also worked with Congresswomen Gabrielle Giffords, and was honored to be named her district director in 2007.
Heinz, Matt - Democrat
Matt has stood by families in Arizona by practicing medicine at the Southern Arizona VA and now works the night shift at Tucson Medical Center while serving as a state representative in Phoenix.
Koskiniemi, Mark - Republican
Mark received his Bachelors of Science in Chemical Engineering from the University of Delaware and for nearly 22 year he continued on a successful career in chemical industry. Later he worked for the Census Bureau in the lead-up to the 2010 Census.
McSally, Martha - Republican
Martha was the first female fighter pilot to fly in combat. She is a former recipient of the Tucson YWCA Women on the Move Award and graduated from the United States Air Force Academy. She received her master's in Public Policy and Strategic Studies.
Aguirre, Amanda - Democrat
Amanda has served our community as a State Representative and as a State Senator of Arizona. She is currently the president/CEO of the Regional Center for Border Health. Aguirre holds a Bachelor's Degree in Chemistry from the University of Sonora in Hermosillo, Sonora and a Master's Degree from California State University, Los Angeles in Food and Nutrition.
Arreguin, Manny - Democrat
Manny did his undergraduate studies at UCLA School of Medicine, graduating with a Medical Doctorate degree. He did an internship in the department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at UCLA. Later he worked at the University of Arizona Medical Center and El Rio Community Health Center.
Grijalva, Raúl - Democrat
Raúl served on the Tucson Unified School District Governing Board, serving as chairman. He was then he was elected to the Pima County Board of Supervisors. He also led the creation of the Sonoran Desert Conservation Plan. Grijalva was elected into Congress in 2002.
Guerra, Blanca - Libertarian
Blanca was born in Sonora, Mexico and later migrated to Tucson. After graduating high school she enlisted in the United States Air Force and worked at the Headquarters 1ST STRAD, Vandenberg Air Force Base in California.
Saucedo Mercer, Gabriela - Republican
Gabriela became a U.S. Citizen in 1991; therefore she cares deeply about the United States. She first worked for a defense electronics firm but she set her job aside to raise her 3 children.
Born in El Paso, Texas Jaime and his family moved to Phoenix, at the age of 17 he enlisted in the Marine Corps, and he served in Vietnam. In 1992 he ran for Arizona State Senate District 6, coming up close against his opponent, John Huppenthal, in the General Election.
