PHOENIX - A serious crash involving a semi-truck has closed westbound Interstate 10 about 25 miles southeast of Phoenix, according to the Arizona Department of Transportation.

Officials confirm that one person has died from the accident, which involved a passenger vehicle and a semi-truck on westbound I-10 near milepost 176, at the State Route 587 junction, according to ADOT. The Arizona Department of Public Safety is investigation the crash, and there is no estimate on when the scene will be cleared.

Drivers are advised to use northbound State Route 587 (Casa Blanca Road) to State Route 87 (Arizona Avenue) where drivers can connect with Loop 202 (Santan Freeway.)
