TUCSON - A man was found dead at Mt. Hopkins in the Santa Ritas Monday, according to Santa Cruz County Sheriffs.
Deputies received a call just after 5 p.m. when the man did not show up for work Monday. He had been missing since Friday, Santa Cruz County Sheriff's spokesman Lt. Raoul Rodriguez said.
The man, a 55-year-old Tucsonan, was an avid rock climber, Rodriguez said. A friend saw a posting on Facebook on his possible whereabouts Pima County Sheriff's took over the lead in the case when they realized he could be at or near Mt. Hopkins in the Santa Ritas.

Deputies dispatched a search and rescue team and found the man hanging dead from his climbing gear on a cliff, Rodriguez said.
The man's dog was found with the man and the man showed signs of several bee stings. The man's identity was withheld pending next of kin notification.
