TUCSON - As Dave Sitton's campaign supporters dined at Jonathan's Cork on the east side, Sitton visited with each person to say thank you.
All eyes were on the projection screen as the results came in. At around 9:30 Tuesday night, Sitton conceded defeat.
News 4 Tucson's Rebecca Taylor asked Sitton whether or not he'll run for Congressional District 2, a separate race to choose a full-term successor to Gabrielle Giffords.
"If whoever wins tonight's contest is successful in June, I'm not sure why Republicans would take on that sitting quasi-incumbent into district two," Sitton said.
When asked what his message is to supporters Sitton said, "I have had some wonderful support, and my staff is varsity as far as I'm concerned."
Until conceding defeat Tuesday night, Sitton a sports broadcaster, said that until every ballot is counted, the ballgame isn't over.
