Dangerous heat on the way

TUCSON - The record books tell us that 1995 is the last time Tucson has seen three consecutive days where high temperatures were 110 degrees or more.

Almost 20 years later, this type of intense heat is coming back.

Excessive Heat Warnings have been issued for most of Southeastern Arizona from Friday afternoon through Sunday evening.

According to Meteorologist Matt Brode, the conditions are right for a 'perfect storm' of intense heat.

Highs on Friday, Saturday and Sunday are projected at 112. 113 & 111 respectively for Tucson.

The entire desert Southwest will be baking in the June heat and cities like Phoenix, Las Vegas and Lake Havasu could be closer to 120 degrees.

If you like rain, there is a positive consequence of the upcoming heat. Moisture will begin to move into the State over the weekend.

Isolated mountain storms are possible as soon as Saturday in Cochise County, and some signs indicate some Valley floor storms early next week.
