TUCSON - Davis-Monthan Air Force Base officials have identified the Airman found dead on the base yesterday

David J. Randolph, 22, was found dead at 8:30 a.m. Thursday. He has been stationed at D-M since February 2010, and was assigned to the 355th Security Forces Squadron as a Response Force Leader. He was deployed to Joint-Base Balad, Iraq in 2011 and received the Global War on Terrorism Expeditionary Medal in recognition of his deployed service.

"The Desert Lightning Team mourns the loss of SrA Randolph," said Col. James Meger, the 355th Fighter Wing commander. "We have lost a member of our Air Force family, and as we all grieve, the base will continue to offer our support and condolence to those mourning the loss of David."

The cause of death is under investigation.
