TUCSON - Aviation enthusiasts and spectators are invited to attend the Aerospace and Arizona Days air show at Davis-Monthan Air Force Base March 20-21. Gates open at 8 a.m.
The air show will offer the public an up-close look at military and civilian aerial demonstrations and static-display aircraft from across the U.S.
Admission to the air show is free. Due to the current security levels, the following items will NOT be allowed onto the base:
* Lawn Chairs (we will have chairs available to rent for a nominal fee)
* Weapons of any type
* Bags and backpacks (for our guests with infants, you will be permitted to bring a diaper bag)
(Small bags and cameras are permitted, but expect them to be checked)
* Water, liquid, or fluids (only permitted for our guests with infants. There will be free water stations located throughout the show area and food and drinks will be available for sale)
* Military uniforms worn by non-military members
* No animals, except for service animals
Parking is free and you can expect to enter through the Swan and Craycroft Gates off of Golf Links. We will have disabled parking available close to the entrance. Due to the distance from our parking area to the display area, expect to do a lot of walking. If you do not like or are unable to walk long distances, SunTran will be providing a shuttle service from the following areas for only $2.50 round trip: Park Place Mall, El Pueblo.
Due to the expectation of a large crowd and the subsequent traffic congestion, D-M will be halting in-bound traffic to the base at 2:00 p.m. Additionally, SunTrans will also be stopping their service from the pick-up/drop-off points at 2:00 p.m.. If you do not arrive onto the base or to the drop-off points by 2:00 p.m., you will NOT be permitted onto the base.
A flying schedule will not be published due to the possibility of unforeseen delays throughout the day of the show. D-M apologizes for the inconvenience.
For aviation enthusiasts, cameras will be allowed as will monopods and tripods for folks who love to take pictures.
