DAVIS-MONTHAN AIR FORCE BASE - An elderly man who collapsed at the Thunder and Lightning open house over the weekend got help right away thanks to six airmen who rushed to provide medical aide.
When the airmen reached the man they noticed he was unconscious, initially they check to see if he had any injuries to his head since he fell and hit his head. They then rolled him on his side to protect his airway, as they did so they noticed he stopped breathing and his pulse was weak.
The airmen began chest compressions and the man soon started breathing on his own. The Airmen stopped the compressions, but continued to give him continuous care until Tucson Fire Department was able to transfer the individual to the hospital.
It's believed the man suffered cardiac arrest.
