TUCSON - Get out of your car, and onto the streets of Tucson later this month at the 2nd Annual Cyclovia Tucson - a car-free event where attendees can bike, skateboard, run, walk and rollerblade on selected Tucson streets without the presence of cars.
This year's route encompasses downtown, Barrio Veijo and South tucson, and will feature a Solar Rock Festival at the Armory Park Community Center, YMCA's Healthy Kids Day at the Arizona Children's Association in South Tucson, and other activities including bike decoration and maintenance, free zumba, pop-up skate park, live music, food vendors and more.
A Public Open House on March 15 will give Tucsonans the chance to ask questions and get involved in the event with various volunteer opportunities. BICAS will also be on hand to give neighbors free basic bike tune-ups in preparation for the event.
The open house goes from 5:30 p.m. To 7 p.m. At the Santa Rosa Neighborhood Center at Santa Rosa Park, 1080 S. 10th Ave.
