Crews make progress in southern Arizona wildfire

SIERRA VISTA, Ariz. (AP) - Fire officials say they have stopped a wildfire burning in the Huachuca Mountains in southeastern Arizona from spreading.

Coronado National Forest spokeswoman Heidi Schewel says the 90-acre Aerostat Fire was 60 percent contained as of Sunday morning.

Schewel says about 100 firefighter personnel were able to get lines around the blaze and they were helped significantly by a decrease in wind Saturday night.

She says firefighters are focused now on any hot spots and strengthening lines against any wind.

No structures are threatened.

Officials say the human-caused fire is the second one in the area in as many weeks.

Schewel says the incidents show that people need to be careful and aware of how dry the landscape is.
