Cranking up the Sonoran Wind Machine this weekend

TUCSON - A blustery end to the work week across southern Arizona.

Meteorologist Jeff Beamish is tracking a cold front moving toward the state this weekend. This feature cranks up winds in the 15-25 MPH range this afternoon through Sunday. A few showers may develop tomorrow east of Tucson, but most locations stay dry.

Highs peak in the low 80's this afternoon under mostly sunny skies, with mid 70's for high temps this weekend.

Models hint another cold front cranking up the winds the middle of next week. Expect gusty winds to return as early as Tuesday afternoon.
