Couple in 70's hurt after their motorcycle is hit by car

TUCSON - A couple in their 70's has been injured after the motorcycle they were riding on was hit by a car this morning on the city's northwest side.

It happened just before 11 a.m. in the intersection of Orange Grove and Oracle Roads. The passenger car was driven by a 21-year old woman.

The couple from the motorcycle was transported to the trauma center at UAMC by ground ambulance and the driver of the car was also taken to the hospital for evaluation and treatment. All of their injuries are considered minor. The couple was wearing helmets.

The intersection was closed for approximately 45 minutes to treat the injured and clean debris in the roadway.

DPS is investigating the cause of the accident.
