BISBEE - A happy day for same-sex couples in Bisbee Friday.
Residents Kathleen Sowden and Debrorah Grier were the first couple to get their certificate of civil union. Bisbee is the first place in Arizona to recognize same-sex couples.
It includes visitation rights in hospitals, rights to inheritance and other state level benefits.
City officials are expects for possible crowds. The ordinance describes the civil unions as a contractual agreement, not a marriage between spouses.
